National Programs

Project Alpha is one of the premier programs implemented during the Fraternal year and impacts nearly 100 young men annually.

A Voteless People is a Hopeless People works to educate citizens and youth of Nashville on the right and obligation to register, vote, and impact change through the ballot box.

Go to High School – Go to College stresses the importance of a college education to Nashville youth and provides yearly visits to historically black colleges and universities.

Brother's Keeper is a service program developed with the mission of advocating and improving the quality of life for Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. brothers, their spouses, and widows who are retired, are elders, have disabilities and are ailing; and vulnerable community members.

Striving to make our community better

Tau Iota Lambda is deeply committed to uplifting our communities through meaningful service, leadership, and brotherhood. Guided by our mission to develop leaders, promote brotherhood and academic excellence, and provide service and advocacy for our communities, Alpha men across the nation work tirelessly to create lasting change. Through volunteer acts within local schools, we mentor young men and women, provide educational resources, and help build pathways toward academic and personal success. Our chapters regularly partner with schools to host career days, reading programs, and leadership workshops that inspire the next generation to rise and lead with integrity. In neighborhoods facing food insecurity, our brothers step forward to assist with food packing and distribution initiatives—bringing nourishment and hope to families living in food deserts.

We also proudly support national philanthropic efforts such as the March of Dimes, raising funds to advance maternal and infant health and to ensure that every child has a healthy start in life. Beyond these efforts, Our chapter creates spaces of support for fathers and fathers-to-be, recognizing the vital role they play in shaping strong families and communities. Through workshops, support circles, and mentoring, we empower fathers with the tools, resources, and encouragement to lead their families with strength and compassion.
From classrooms to community centers, from food drives to fatherhood initiatives, the Tau Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. stands as a beacon of leadership and service—continuing our century-long legacy of building better men and better communities.
